The Museum extension is being dedicated to the Centenary of the RAF, which was founded on 1st April 1918. We’ll explain a little more as you read down the page…
Internal Layout
The RAF was born out of the amalgamation of the Royal Flying Corps (RFC) and the Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS)
Gift Shop and Ticket Office
The RNAS was founded at Eastchurch in 1912.
Exhibition Area
We have exhibits that we have not displayed before due to lack of space. The new extension will provide that space.
Audio Visual Area
We have a wealth of audio visual material which we will be able to show and tell the story of Sheppey’s aviation history.
Office, Archive and Research Area
We have a large collection of aviation material which is growing all the time, and which will be available to the public for research.
