He has considerable experience of the investment world having been Non-Executive Chairman of various international investment companies managed by Schroders, HSBC, and JP Morgan. He is active in Asia, the Middle East, and the United States and sits on the boards of a number of major privately owned companies.
He sits in the House of Lords as a Crossbench peer and is based in Buckinghamshire where he has been High Sheriff: he is a Deputy Lieutenant of the County.
